The Idaho INBRE Program is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of General Medical Sciences Institutional Development Award (IDeA).

The NIH is a federal agency under the U.S. Health and Human Services.  It is consists of 27 institutes and centers.  The role of the NIH is to conduct and provide support for medical research.  For more information on the NIH and its mission, please visit their website at www.nih.gov.

The NIGMS' mission is to “support research that increases understanding of life processes and lays the foundation for advances in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.”  NIGMS' IDeA Program supports faculty development and research infrastructure for IDeA states.  For more information on NIGMS and the IDeA Program, please visit their website at www.nigms.nih.gov.
